A technology exists that allows for terminally ill patients to impart their best living consciousness into an artificial intelligence before they pass away. The consciousness would then live in this AI and can interct with this person's loved ones. It will almost be as if this person has never left. Think JARVIS or FRIDAY (from Iron Man) but for dead people.
Arkangel is a child monitoring system installed via a painless implant. It can monitor the child's vision and hearing with a tablet computer, and allows the parent to view live medical data and past audiovisual feeds. A filter can also censor stimuli when they cause stress to the child, such as blood, violent scenes, or an intimidating neighbourhood dog. The Arkangel implant automatically expires when the child turns 18 years old.
